The Truth About Katie Merrill J Davies 9781625530509 Books Reviews
If you like a book that grabs you from the first page, this book is for you. I love a book that gets my attention and never let's go. I read it on a day off and had to tear myself away to do some much needed chores. BUT, I came right back and read some more. I highly recommend The Truth about Katie.
If you like a great mystery this is the one. The characters are believable, the situations are familiar and the plot catches your heart. A wonderfully written piece of literature for anyone.
The story is compelling in that the entire time, the reader is curious about Katie's past and those she left behind in order to find herself. It is a quick read in that the reader becomes attached to the characters, major and minor, and their challenges for self-discovery through forgiveness.
In The Truth About Katie, Mrs. Davies combined the elements of inspiration, forgiveness and intrigue to create an excellent book. I'm sure most of us can identify with Katie's feelings of being overwhelmed with responsibilities and wanting to get away. I enjoyed getting to know Katie and learning from her that she needed to face issues hidden in her past to be able to love and forgive others as well as be loved and forgiven herself. This is a book that I did not want to put down and I missed Katie and her family when I finished.
Easy to read. Plot flows well. Characters well developed. A great read, with excellent grammar, eliminating the need to re-read passages.
It's interesting to learn how early events shape a person's life.
The Truth About Katie is a well-written novel of forgiveness and restoration in a family. It combines elements of suspense, personal and family difficulties, and a search for understanding one’s past. Set in Nashville and rural Kentucky, it is realistic and true to life. Once I began reading it, it drew me in so that I found it hard to put down.
This book is an interesting and suspenseful mystery that will be making you think of your own childhood experiences. It will hold your interest and make you think how you have handled your growing up years.
